In March of 2018, North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department and Snowmobile North Dakota conducted tracked Off Highway Vehicle testing on the snowmobile trail system. This exercise was done simply to gauge testable measurements to understand the impacts and public interactions if tracked OHV’s were allowed to operate on the state snowmobile trails. This test result data in no way infers that we are allowing tracked ohv’s on the trails at this time. During the SND convention, we will have a presentation at the annual meeting to go over the testing results as well as a separate session afterwards to discuss the outcomes of the tracked dirt bike trail permit and tracked OHV operation further.
